Yehia Choukry Mourad, a filmmaker, suffering a heart attack while directing a film, after which he travels to London for a heart bypass operation. As he undergoes surgery, the narrative shifts into a surreal, introspective realm. Under anesthesia, Yehia imagines his own life as a kind of trial taking place inside his chest, where his inner child stands accused of trying to destroy his adult self. Through this dreamlike trial, a series of flashbacks reveal key moments in Yehia's life and career - from his difficult childhood and rebellious youth, through his early days in cinema, to his international struggles at film festivals and conflicts with censorship in Egypt. These memories are interwoven with broader events in Egyptian history and his personal relationships, including those with his mother, wife, and daughter.
