When the East St. Louis High School graduating classes of 1923-24 got together for their fiftieth anniversary reunion, Darren McGavin recorded the event and turned it into a picture called "American Reunion." Mingled with the interviews of class members and their recollections of two world wars, the Roaring Twenties, the Depression and Prohibition were groups of headlines from the New York times. One told of the Wright brothers keeping an airplane aloft for more than an hour. Another reported a man walking on the moon.
