Balu (Madhu) and Yusuf (Prem Nazir) are best friends. They work as fishermen. Mohan (Soman) is a coast guard officer who finds out that Veerendran (Jose Prakash) is the mastermind behind the smuggling activities that take place in the harbor and catches him red-handed. But Veerendran escapes and kills Mohan. Mohan's wife passes away after giving birth to their son. Balu seeks revenge but is helpless and therefore decides to leave his grandson Anand (Mammootty) with his best friend Yusuf. Balu becomes a very wealthy man and Anand grows up to become a fine young man and falls in love with Daisy (Shobana). Veerendran meanwhile finds out that Balu is the father of Mohan and decides to destroy him and his family. Watch the movie and find out how Anand rises to the occasion and saves his family.
