Not knowing what to expect, Stathis Kougias, an unscrupulous professional swindler, eventually reunites with his old gang after an eye-opening, two-year stint in jail. With his enthusiastic partners-in-crime eager to pick up where they left off, stone-faced Stathis gets to work, only to realise that something gets in the way of happiness. Now, to find closure and, perhaps, a sense of redemption, Stathis is determined to go to great lengths to unearth the truth about his long-gone cabaret singer mother Rosa, who has been missing since 1943. However, as ruthless, power-hungry Michalis, Stathis' right-hand man, is waiting for the taciturn leader to slip up, the question remains: what happens if Stathis gets too close to the ugly truth?
