Best friends and skilled abattoir workers David and Wani share a home and a dream to open their own butchery. As they close in on the last purchases to make their dream a reality, a new worker, the fumbling Patate, reaches out to them. While Wani is patient with Patate, David rejects him as weak and incompetent. After an argument in which Wani questions David's lack of empathy for Patate, the abattoir foreman sends David and Patate on an errand together. On their return, David discovers that Wani has been seriously injured while working at Patate's machine. His life hangs in the balance. Alone and without Wani, David is exposed to a new reality - one that he will fight to resist.
