• In 2008, he won a Leo Award for best performance in a comedy series for "Little Mosque on the Prairie․"
• Won an Honorable Mention for Special Purpose Film at the 2008 Accolade Competition for "Othello the Tragedy of the Moor," which he shared with executive producers Matthew Deslippe and Carlo Rota
• Majored in theatre and drama at the University of Toronto, Mississauga, and the Sheridan College Institute of Advanced Learning, then went on to earn his MFA at the University of British Columbia
• Worked as a copy editor for University of Toronto's campus newspaper, "The Medium․"
