• He, along with his wife Russi, were named Disney Legends in 2008
• Began his career with Disney Studios as a mailroom clerk and later an assistant for Jimmy MacDonald, the second man to voice Mickey Mouse after Walt Disney
• Initially a musician, he formed a traveling music group as a teenager and eventually performed as a guitarist with Davie Allan & the Arrows
• Quote: "My life has been spent working in one capacity or another for the Disney family․ I consider it to be a very high calling․"
• Began voicing Mickey Mouse in 1977 for "The New Mickey Mouse Club" and remained the voice of the character until his death in 2009
• Was only one of three people to ever voice Mickey Mouse before his death, with the other two being Walt Disney and James MacDonald
• Met his wife on the set of "Totally Minnie," where she was voicing the character Minnie Mouse
