• In 1998 he was inducted into the Hall of Great Western Performers of the National cowboy and Western Heritage Museum, for his role in "Little House on the Prairie․"
• Followed his father's, Ted French, footsteps and became a stuntman on TV, mostly in westerns and anthology shows
• Appeared on the 1974 series "Little House on the Prairie as Isaiah Edwards, and in addition to acting in the show he also directed some episodes
• He and Michael Landon commonly co-starred together on TV, in both "Little House on the Prairie" and "Carter Country․"
• He gave his niece Kristin M․ Meade inspiration to follow in his footsteps and become an actress
• He was diagnosed with lung cancer in May 1989, but by this time it was already too advanced to reverse the disease, giving him only one month left
