• Graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Communications and French in 2004, where she was a member of the all-female comedy troupe Bloomers
• Started out as an intern for "Sesame Street" and "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" during college
• Began doing improv and sketch comedy at iO Chicago, The Annoyance, and The Second City
• Best known as a "Saturday Night Live" cast member and as the Flight Attendant in "Despicable Me 2․"
• Was part of the all-Jewish cast of "Jewsical: The Musical" at Second City, which was a comedic take on Jewish culture
• Created the original "Saturday Night Live" characters Jacob the Bar Mitzvah Boy and Becky, and also does impersonations of Miley Cyrus, Kourtney Kardashian, Hillary Clinton, and Gretchen Carlson
• Launched the web series "Sound Advice with Janessa Slater" with her brother, Jonah, for Broadway Video's Above Average
