• Won a Peabody Award along with his brother for "Car Talk" in 1992
• Graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a degree in Chemical Engineering
• Worked as an engineer after college, but a near-fatal car accident caused him to seek out something different, and after a two-year struggle he invented the "do-it-yourself auto repair shop․"
• First began co-hosting "Car Talk" with his brother Ray on WBUR in Boston in 1977, taking it to NPR in 1987
• Best known as the co-host of the weekly NPR radio show "Car Talk" with his brother, Ray Magliozzi, for more than 35 years
• With his brother Ray, he wrote the books "In Our Humble Opinion" and "A Haircut in Horsetown and Other Great car Talk Puzzlers․"
• He and his brother adopted the nicknames "Click and Clack, the Tappet Brothers," which later led to a PBS animated series called "Click and Clack's As the Wrench Turns" in 2008
• Had a voice-over cameo along with his brother in the Pixar animated film "Cars" in 2006
