  • Due to his restaurant's close proximity to Ground Zero, he volunteered to serve food free of charge to volunteer workers after the September 11th terrorist attacks
  • Despite having no prior schooling in the culinary arts, he began to pursue jobs in the field beginning at 17-years-old
