• Gained entrance to Washington State University via a basketball scholarship, but subsequently left after being kicked off of the team
• Involved in a botched drug deal in October of 2001 which would land him in the hospital after a heated gun fight
• While recovering in the hospital from gunshot wounds, he would begin studying seminal rap artists and albums with his brother

• Although born to a crime-ridden neighborhood run by the Crips, he would eventually go on to become a member of the Bloods by his late teens
• Designed his own line of sneakers in 2006, with proceeds benefitting victims of Hurricane Katrina
