• Received the Bancroft Gold Medal award for his portrayal of Richard III while at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art
• Moved frequently as a child and attended 13 different schools, as his father was a member of the Royal Air Force
• Upon graduating from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, he would gain almost immediate recognition for his role in 1972's "The Strauss Family" for portraying a character that aged throughout the production from age 14 to 74
• After finding success in London, he moved to Hollywood in the late 1980s to pursue American projects, most of which would end up being villainous roles in films such as "Lethal Weapon 3", "The Mask of Zorro" and others
• Grew up mostly in Rhodesia, Africa, where his father worked as an engineer for the RAF
• Often known for portraying characters of various ethnicities and backgrounds
