• Graduated from Carleton College with a BA in Political Philosophy and received her law degree from Washington & Lee University
• Graduated from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts with a Master's degree in Playwriting
• Was a practicing trial attorney at the Legal Aid Society of New York City, specializing in Juvenile Rights
