• Graduated from Oral Roberts University with a degree in advertising and public relations
• Began to gain industry recognition after signing on to become the newest protege of producer Timbaland in the early 2000s
• Earned his first job in the music industry with DreamWorks SKG in Nashville, where he would start out by singing background vocals before producing tracks for artists he met in the studio
• Formed OneRepublic in 2002 after meeting fellow bandmate Zach Filkins at his new high school in Colorado
• Began learning to play his first instrument, the piano, at three-years-old before eventually learning to sing four years later
• His first royalty payment came in the form of a $7,500 check in 2003 for his work on a Bubba Sparxxx song
