• Studied English literature at Oxford University, where she spent much of her time acting and singing
• Made her screen acting debut in the film "The Hawk" in 1993
• Got her start in acting in fringe theater in London, and was discovered in a production of "The Dutch Courtesan" and later invited to appear in "A School for Scandal" at the National Theatre
• After college, she was asked to be the lead vocalist of Humphrey Carpenter's swing band Vile Bodies, spending five years in residence at London's Ritz Hotel
• As a screenwriter, she has worked on TV series like "Family Affairs" and "Holby City," as well as more than 40 episodes of "Doctors․"
• Best known for playing Nita in "True Dare Kiss" and Monica Broome in "Cardiac Arrest․"
• Was the second actress, after Sukie Smith, to play the character Rachel Branning in "EastEnders․"
