• The National Association of Theater Owners named Guber producer of the year in 1978 for the critically adored "Midnight Express․"
• While enrolled at NYU to receive his MBA and Master of Law degrees, he skipped out on his graduation and accepted a position with Columbia Pictures as an assistant and management trainee
• Attended Syracuse University in New York as a pre-law major in the 1960s, played recreational football at the university, pledged the Zeta Beta Tau fraternity and met his future wife who belonged to a sorority
• After his termination at Columbia pictures, launched his career as an independent film producer, producing the second highest-grossing film of 1977, "The Deep․"
• Since starting his career as a film producer, his films have earned over $3 billion worldwide and 50 Academy Award nominations
• His early position at Columbia Pictures included computerizing files on working actors and tape-recorded summaries of scripts for executives but was soon transferred to the New York City officer where he became VP of creative affairs
• In 1989, his production agency Guber-Peters Entertainment Company was acquired by the Sony Corporation and he became Chairman of the Board and CEO of Sony Pictures Entertainment
• Bought NBA's Golden State Warriors with Boston Celtics minority partner Joe Lacob for $450 million IN 2010, later becoming a minority owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2012
