• Received a Silver Logie Award nomination for "Most Popular Actor" at the 2003 Australian TV Week Logie Awards
• After graduating with a degree in communications, auditioned for the National Institute of Dramatic Art, graduating from their three-year program in 1998, and toured briefly with the Bell Shakespeare Company
• Grew up in remote communities in Western Australia where his father was a school principal and his mother was a music teacher
• While auditioning for a number of roles in Australia film and TV, Pollard worked at a wholesale factory packing veterinary products but later quit after he got picked up by TV series "McLeod's Daughters․"
