• Studied drama at Boston University as well as the Alvin Ailey School
• She is the daughter of actor Hugh Hurd
• Began her career as a stage actress with London's National Theatre in the early '90s before relocating back to the United States to pursue other theater opportunities
• Continuing her stage work, she transitioned to film and television roles throughout the '90s and would later land recurring roles on popular series including "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit", "Gossip Girl" and "The Glades"
• Met her husband and fellow actor Garret Dillahunt while performing with the Circle Repertory Theater Company
