• Started out as a journalist for CBS Radio, where he covered the Branch Davidian compound standoff in Waco, Texas in 1993 and the bombing of the Alfred P․ Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City in 1995
• Also covered the Presidential elections in 1988, 1992, and 1996 before venturing into sports entertainment by joining the WWE in 1997
• Created the documentary "Voices of Bosnia" after spending nine months in the war-torn country for CBS Radio, on what was supposed to be a six-week assignment
• Best known as a wrestling commentator and host for the WWE
• Often referred to as the "Voice of WWE," he serves as the play-by-play announcer for "Monday Night Raw," "Friday Night SmackDown," and the WWE pay-per-view fights
• Does the commentary voice for several WWE video games and often appears in them as a non-playable character, with the exception of "WWF SmackDown 2: Know Your Role" and "WWF No Mercy," in which his character could be unlocked
• Is the co-host of "The JBL and Cole Show" for WWE․com
• Appears in the film "The Hangover Part III" along with former wrestler and fellow commentator Jerry Lawler
