Fast Facts

• Helped co-found the Detroit Creativity Project alongside fellow comics including Keegan-Michael Key and others
• Studied philosophy, political science and environmental studies at Calvin College, where he graduated in 1992
• After starting his career with NPR as a radio host in Michigan, he would later become a full-time member of Second City's branch in Detroit by the late '90s
• Relocated to Los Angeles from the Midwest in 2001, where he would continue working with Second City as an improv coach
• Worked for several summers in the Northeast on schooner boats in his youth
