• Best known for his character El Pirrurris, a role he has gone on to portray in numerous television series and stand-up routines since as early as the 1970s
• His series "El Mundo de Luis de Alba" became one of the first Mexican television series to incorporate electronic graphics in 1980
• Since originating the character of El Pirrurris, the common epithet of 'pirrurris' has become popular throughout Mexico to refer to someone who looks down upon others, much like that of de Alba's character who is the spoiled son of a millionaire
