• Picked from among three finalists to succeed Debbie Matenopoulos to join the hosting team of Barbara Walters' daily morning talk show "The View," which earned her multiple nominations as Outstanding Talk Show Host
• In 2007, was awarded an honorary doctorate from National University
• Graduated from Del Campo High School in 1991 and attended the University of California while working at Channel One
• Was chosen to host the nationally syndicated teen news magazine "Scratch" at the age of 16 and became one of the youngest reporters for "Channel One News" by the age of 18
