• Was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame along with Fleetwood Mac in 1998
• During his senior year of high school, he and Stevie Nicks formed the band The Fritz Rabyne Memorial Band with three other friends, going on to become popular in the San Francisco Bay area
• Became interested in rock and roll when he listened to his brother's records as a kid, often playing along on his Mickey Mouse toy guitar
• Joined a small folk group at the age of 15 and at the same time was attending high school one year behind Stevie Nicks
