• Founded the Kenny Lattimore Foundation with the goal of mentoring and educating young people and exposing them to the arts
• Won the NAACP Image Award for Best New Artist early in his career
• Became one of the spokesmen for Tied to Greatness, an outreach program that seeks to help at-risk young men in inner city high schools improve their self-image
• Studied architecture and planning at Howard University
• When he was growing up, he sang in his church's choir, participated in talent shows and studied classical and chamber music
• Before attending college, he won the honor of Maryland Distinguished Scholar for Performing Arts
• During college and before he set out as a solo artist he joined the music group Maniquin, which was signed to Epic Records
• His hits, which combine R&B with contemporary styles, include "Never Too Busy" and "For You․"
• Branching out from music into acting, his theater credits include "Loving Him Is Killing Me," "Heavenbound," "A Change Is Gonna Come" and "Whatever Happened to Black Love․"
