• Won the Ottawa International Film Festival Grand Prize for Best Animated Short Film for "Happy Tree Friends, Volume 3: Third Strike" in 2005
• Started out doing motion graphics at special effects houses in Hollywood in the 1980s and got his big break when "Gumby" creator Art Clokey saw one of his clay animation films and offered him a job as art director on the TV series
• Worked as a bartender at Roxanne's in Arcadia, California before getting into animation writing
