• At the time of his win on "Jeopardy!", he placed in the Guinness Book of World Records for having won the biggest cash prize ever on a game show
• Works with the National Academic Quiz Tournament, often writing questions and moderating
• After beginning his college education at the University of Washington, he would eventually graduate from Brigham Young University with a computer science and English degree
• Continuing his fame after "Jeopardy!", he would go on to appear on other game shows such as "1 vs․ 100", "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?" and several others
• Made headlines after competing for in 75 straight shows on "Jeopardy!" in 2004 and amassing winnings totaling over $2․5 million by the end of his run
• Was asked to compete on the Tournament of Champions for "Jeopardy!" at the end of 2004, where he would go on to place second overall after beating out 98 other competitors
• Published his first of several books in 2006, which was aptly titled, "Brainiac: Adventures in the Curious, Competitive, Compulsive World of Trivia Buffs"
• Competed as a member of BYU's quiz bowl team for most of his college career
