- Tried her hand at directing with four episodes of the series, "Benson" after studying directing at the Directing Workshop of the American Film Institute in 1983
- Began acting in school productions in elementary school and would eventually go on to become a drama teacher at the university level before making her screen debut
- After wrapping up "Coach" in 1997, she enjoyed recurring guest roles later in her career including "Everybody Loves Raymond" until 2004
- After gaining the attention of critics with "The Legend of Lizzie Borden" in 1975, she signed on for ABC's "Soap", a role she would play from 1977 to 1981 and later "Who's the Boss?" for another eight years
