• Best known for her portrayal of Elizabeth Walton, the youngest sibling on the 1970s TV show "The Waltons," and the subsequent Walton TV movies
• After leaving acting she also owned her own boutique and travel company, as well as managed a cafe in San Francisco
• Became a teacher and education consultant in Los Angeles, Calif․ after going back to college
• Her first teaching job was in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia in a small rural school that was much like the one her fictional character on "The Walton's" attended
• Has left acting but does occasionally take part in the annual Walton Reunions
• Very much the educator, she is the founding principal of Environmental Charter Middle School, a part of a network of free public schools in communities of Los Angeles that are underserved, where students are prepared for 4-year colleges
