• Received a B․A․ in drama and philosophy from Vassar College in 1984 and attended The Julliard School's Drama Division starting in 1986
• His father was a research physicist and his mother was a psychiatrist when he was growing up
• Made his professional debut as the star of a Mike Nichols directed touring production of "The Real Thing․"
