Johnny Hardwick Biography

Fast Facts

• Attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas
• Began his career as a stand-up comedian in venues throughout his native Texas including venues in Dallas and Austin
• Following several successful shows at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles, he would soon be approached by "King of the Hill" creator Greg Daniels who wanted Hardwick's Texas accent and background for the show
• Got his start in the entertainment industry after being noticed by television executive Brandon Tartikoff at the 1995 Montreal Comedy Festival
• Began voicing the role of Dale Gribble following three weeks of intensive auditions after executives were unable to reach a salary agreement with the character's original voice actor, Daniel Stern
