  • One of several San Francisco-based filmmakers in the 2007 documentary, "Fog City Mavericks"
  • Took an early interest in filmmaking at age 16 and attended Antioch College where he would find work as an animator
  • After straying from animation following a flop, he would concentrate on television and film direction which would later include his most critically acclaimed title during this time period, "The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman"
  • Enjoyed experimenting with objects not commonly used in early animation including photographs, cloths, string and others
  • Rereleased two short animated pieces he once created early in his career online in 2006, with the two main sketches he used more than 50 years old
  • Honored by the Directors Guild of America for his work on "Who Are the DeBolts? And Where Did They Get Nineteen Kids?"
