• Began working from the director's chair in 1994 with "Hard Vice" and continues to work as a director to this day
• Often collaborates with HEAL, a non-profit Florida organization responsible for teaching young adults the importance of self-expression through film
• One of six children, he was born four years before brother, John Travolta

• Married Wendy Shawn in 1980, daughter of comedian Dick Shawn

• Landed the titular role in 1993's "DaVinci's War"
