• After studying at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts for one year, he returned to his hometown of Chicago to pursue stand-up comedy instead
• Began to gain prominence after becoming Conan O'Brien's warm-up comic before tapings of his late-night talk shows in the late 2000s
• Founded the popular podcast, Never Not Funny in 2006 with friend and producer, Matt Belknap
• While starting out in stand-up, he would work for MCA Records, however, he would pursue comedy full-time after he began to earn money for his gigs in the late '80s
