• Won a Gemini Award for his sports play-by-plays in 2004
• Was very active in community theatre in his youth and even attended the University of Victoria for a brief time to study theatre before returning to radio
• Was heavily influenced by sportscaster Jim Robson, who he worked with at CKNW in Vancouver
• Started out as a radio DJ during high school in his hometown of Fort St․ John
• Best known as a sportscaster and lead play-by-play announcer for "Hockey Night in Canada․"
• Was the play-by-play voice for the "NHL" video game series from 1997 to 2009 and the "Triple Play" series from 1997 to 2001
• Worked as the play-by-play announcer for the Vancouver Canucks on the Sportsnet channel
• In addition to hockey, he also does several national baseball broadcasts and is the voice of the Toronto Blue Jays
• Had small roles as game announcers in the films "MVP: Most Valuable Primate" and "Air Bud: Seventh Inning Fetch․"
• Has broadcasted numerous hockey games in the NHL and other leagues during his career, including Wayne Gretzky's final game in Canada in April 1999
