• Won the Knights Art Grant to create his music program "Philadelphia Music Makers" in 2013
• Won two Philadelphia Achievement in Radio awards and an Associated Press prize for radio
• Started out as a radio announcer in Dublin and later worked for BBC Radio Wales and the BBC World Service
• Served as an adjunct journalism professor at Temple University
• Joined Philadelphia's WRTI in 2002 as an arts and culture reporter and traveled to Europe and Asia to report on the Philadelphia Orchestra's tours
• Best known as an arts journalist for WRTI in Philadelphia and as the host of "Articulate with Jim Cotter․"
• Lived on the island of Crete in Greece before he moved to the United States
