• Was accepted into The Bristol Old Vic Drama School and later attended Perth Repertory Company in Scotland, where he worked to earn his Equity card
• Developed a love for film while sitting on his father's and mother's sets as a child
• While attending boarding school at Somerset, he received a half-scholarship for swimming and the under-16 freestyle record for South England
