• Passed away from heart failure in 2005 at 85-years-old
• Began his career in show business after a chance meeting with Carl Reiner just prior to WWII
• Enjoyed directing as well and would go on to helm several feature film comedies as well as national ad campaigns for businesses such as McDonald's
• Following a successful writing career, he joined Hanna-Barbera Productions by the '60s where he would work on dozens of animated television programs as a voiceover artist
• After gaining widespread acclaim as a traveling entertainer for troops during WWII, he would eventually sign on as a sketch writer for Sid Caesar
