• Awarded DBE qualifications in 1967 at the age of 79
• Died at the age of 82 following a bout of pneumonia
• Got her start in show business as a child model around the turn of the 20th Century before eventually making her acting debut at age 17
• Began stage work in her late teens and eventually made her feature film debut in 1913 with "The Eleventh Commandment", the first of many silent films she would go on to star in prior to WWI
• After establishing herself in the theater community of both London and New York, she would move to Hollywood in 1940 to pursue a film career
• Served as manager of the Playhouse Theatre in London from 1917 to 1933
• Published her own autobiography in 1931
