• Started out as a night club DJ at the age of 16 before getting his first job as a record boy for Chuck Chillout at the age of 19
• First became involved with Hot 97 when the station began airing live broadcasts of his performances at local night clubs on a program they called the "Saturday Night House Party․"
• Got his big break as a radio DJ at 98․7 KISS-FM one night when Chuck Chillout was late for his show and he was allowed to stand in
• Officially joined Hot 97 in 1992 as the host of his own specialized rap show
• Best known as a rapper, musician, and hip hop DJ and producer for New York City's Hot 97 radio station
• Along with seven other New York DJs, including Mister Cee and Frankie Cutlass, he created The Flip Squad in 1995, who released their self-titled debut album in 1998
• Has his own video game called "Funkmaster Flex's Digital Hitz Factory" and is also featured as an unlockable character in "ESPN NFL 2K5" and "Def Jam Vendetta․"
• Is the featured DJ on the fictional radio station The Beat 102․7 in two expansion packs for the video game "Grand Theft Auto IV" titled "The Lost and Damned" and "The Ballad of Gay Tony․"
