• Best known as the executive producer for the TV series "The Middle" which resulted in receiving a Humanitas Prize nomination in 2012
• Attended Indiana University and later transferred to New York University and received her bachelor's degree in film and television from the Tisch School of the Arts
• She and her "The Middle" co-executive producer DeAnn Heline have been friends and writing partners since rooming together at college
• Was the executive producer for 12 episodes of "How I Met Your Mother" on its first season in 2005
• In addition to producing "The Middle" she has written and created more than 90 episodes for the series
• Her first job in TV was as a production assistant on the series "Kate & Allie" in 1984
• She and TV producer Adam Wolman married in 1997, and the two have twin sons born in 2000
