• Won two BAFTA TV Awards for Situation Comedy for "Black Books" in 2001 and 2005
• Was nominated for two IFTA Awards: one for Best Actor in a TV Drama for "Black Books" in 2004 and one for Best Actor in a Lead Role in a Film for "A Film with Me in It" in 2009
• Became the youngest person to win the Perrier Comedy Award at the Edinburgh Festival in 1996
• Started out doing stand-up comedy at a club in Dublin before moving to London, where were many more comedy clubs to choose from
