  • Best known for his role as Dr․ Tryon in "Sleeper" and as Dan Hollis in the famed "The Twilight Zone" episode "It's a Good Life․"
  • Improvised his two scenes with Jim Carrey in 1997's "Liar, Liar," in which he played a homeless beggar, and was escorted off the set by director Tom Shadyac to the applause of the cast and crew after completing his work
  • Originated the role of Bernard in "Death of a Salesman" in 1949 and was the last surviving member of the original cast
