• In 2012 she received a nomination for the Humanitas Prize, shared with Eileen Heisler, for "The Middle․"
• She attended Indiana University and after spending a few years there she transferred to New York University, at which she received her bachelor's degree in film and television from Tisch School of the Arts
• She and co-executive producer of "The Middle" Eileen Heisler, have been close friends since they were roommates in college together, and have since written and collaborated on numerous projects
• She married Bruce Bolkin, the President of Valley Business Printers, and the two have two daughters together
