• Was nominated for a Gold Laurel award for Top Male New Personality in 1959
• During the Korean War, he served in the Naval Air Corps
• Founded the Christian Rescue Committee in 1998 to aid people who have been persecuted because of their faith
• Attended Wilmore, Ky․'s, Asbury University and received an honorary degree in 2002
• In high school, he hosted a radio show called "Dean Jones Sings․"
• After leaving the military, he began working at the Bird Cage Theater in Buena Park, Calif
• Best known for his work in Disney films, playing Jim in "The Love Bug" and Zeke Kelso in "That Darn Cat!"
