• Won a Producers Guild of America Award for Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television for "Frasier" in 1996
• Won a Directors Guild of America Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Comedy Series' for "Frasier" in 1995
• Graduated from the University of the Redlands with a degree in Music Theory and Theatre in 1972
• Became interested in the entertainment industry after his cousin took him to see "My Fair Lady" at the age of 9
• Started out as a proofreader at a mimeograph company, which is where he met "Frasier" co-creator Peter Casey
• Worked with Peter Casey on scripts for "The Jeffersons" and "Cheers․"
