David Anthony Higgins Biography

• Won a Film Discovery Jury Award in 1999 at the U․S․ Comedy Arts Festival for Best Screenplay for "The Wrong Guy․"
• At the 1993 CableACE Awards, he was nominated for Comedy Special for "Higgins Boys and Gruber․"
• Was enrolled for a year at the University of Iowa, studying liberal arts before he dropped out to pursue his dream of becoming a performer
• At Hubbell Elementary School, encouragement from a teacher helped him win a scholarship to the Des Moines Playhouse, which allowed him to begin appearing in a series of summer operettas
• Traveled with the comedy troupe "Don't Quit Your Day Job" alongside his brother David, performing at hotels and restaurants in Iowa
