When he was a child, he often chatted for long periods of time with Quentin Tarantino, who was working as a clerk at the video rental store he frequented
Some of his most recognizable television parts are Doyle McMaster in "Gilmore Girls" and Jonathan Levenson in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," for which the San Francisco Chronicle named him "one of the top ten scene stealers on television․"

In his high school's theater productions he played Ponyboy in "The Outsiders" and Master of Ceremonies in "Cabaret․"
