• Attended Drury College in his native Missouri where he was actively involved in the school's drama department
• Passed away in 2007 at the age of 90, leaving behind no family members, as he never married nor had children

• Made his final film appearance in 1999 in "The Green Mile", 61 years after his first on-screen debut
• Was the first character saved by Superman in the 1952 series, "Adventures of Superman", however, his part was uncredited
• Stuck with the stage name of Dabbs, as it was his grandmother's maiden name
