• Attended Northwestern University, and during his time there, he worked with Paul Sills and Story Theatre
• A fan of skiing and even an advocate for safety in winter sports, he was killed in an avalanche while snowboarding in California at the age of 60
• When he was 9 years old, he started acting at the Children's Theatre in New Canaan, Conn
• Wrote, composed music for and dratted in a theatrical memoir called "The Backroad Home" in 2007
• Much of his work was in the horror and science fiction genres, and he played many tough characters, including guards and military personnel
• The last film he completed, "Garden Party," was released shortly after his death
• Tried out for the part of Han Solo in the 1977 film "Star Wars․"
